If you know me then you know I’m not the biggest make-up fan – which means I rarely wear the stuff. But this doesn’t mean I don’t get spots or that my pores aren’t backed up with things I’d much rather not be there.
In fact skincare is something I have taken more of a shinning too recently and I’ve made it my mission to find the products that work for me.
I’ve tried a lot of skincare remedies in the past, from both high-end step by step routines to simple soaps and scrubs, and guess what – it’s the lower priced items that have actually helped to get my skin back on track.
Now I will admit that I did jump on the hype that is Glossier and treated myself up their 3 step package.
My favourite thing out if it all has to be their milk jelly cleanser. It is perfect for not just taking off make-up like most people us it for, but also to make your skin feel fresh and moisturised at the same time. I would highly recommend this if you have sensitive skin as well like me.
I do also love their priming moisturiser, despite hearing bad things from other people this works really well to battle my dry skin. But I don’t wear make-up over the top of it so I haven’t experienced similar issues to others who say they dislike it as a primer for makeup. Instead I use this as an everyday moisturiser and it does make me feel refreshed.
As for face washes and scrubs, these are a big part of my new skincare routine. If I am in a rush I will still always use these products either in the shower as I’m washing my hair or in the sink before brushing my teeth.
My favourite has to be the Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub. Not only does it smell amazing but the mini exfoliation balls are soft enough not to irritate my skin whilst still getting rid of the dry problem areas.
Due to having sensitive skin I’ve always thought that it’s good to not use perfumed products too often which is why I like to change between my scrubs.
The one thing I will swear by though for its scent in particular is the Palmer Coca Butter. It’s a product I’ve known about for years as my parents always use it on holiday to keep their skin from drying out, but I remember it mainly for its heavenly smell.
Not surprisingly though it is also an amazing body moisturiser and one that I will always swear by. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated but not sticky like other body butters can do. It can be on the more pricey side of body moisturisers but it is well worth it and a little goes a long way. I was very happy when I saw that I could also order this from Chemist4U.
Another moisturiser I love, but more for the evening is the Lush Sleepy body lotion. If you love Twilight from Lush then you will this.
It has been known to send people to sleep and I can vouch that it definitely does help. Mix this with the Sleepy body spray on your duvet and you will be out like a light.
I am still very much knew to a good skincare routine so I haven’t experimented much with face masks, eye creams or day and night creams so please do leave some recommendations in the comments.
I would also recommend checking out Chemist4U, who Kindly gifted me some products. They are a new website that’s similar to Superdrug and Boots and they actually have some good deals. If you’re after skincare bits or medicine then definitely have a look at their website as it might surprise you.
If you are looking to buy some Glossier products then you can get 10% off with my link.
