Your idea of a good night might be a couple cocktails with the girls, a date with the boyfriend and a posh restaurant.
My idea of a good night is wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa, cup of tea in hand and a Netflix series on autoplay.
After my previous post on Netflix shows you need to watch, it has probably become apparent how much time Paul and I spend watching TV series and movies. It’s basically our version of a party.
Personally, Netflix has it’s up’s and downs for me. One month there could be 5 new amazing releases which we have to binge as soon s they come out. Then we’ll have 3 months with nothing. No decent movies, the same TV series we’ve seen before and we’re stuck in limbo until the next big release.
This has not been the case for Autumn though. We’ve already binged our way through 2 series and are currently waiting for a new episode of Designated Survivor to come out every Thursday.
With our Netflix connoisseur experience, I thought it was only fitting to give you all some suggestions to help you get through the cold winter months – although you might be able to binge them all in a few weeks.
STRANGER THINGS 2
If you haven’t watched Stranger Things 2 yet then what have you been doing with your life these past few weeks?
If you haven’t watched Stranger Things 1 yet then I’m sorry we can’t be friends. – Unless you decide to start watching it right now after reading this.
As someone who hates scary movies and can’t even deal with jumpy Facebook spider videos – I can vouch that it’s not scary despite what the title may have you think.
There are so many different themes within this series from friendships to loyalty. This paired with the 70’s vibe and amazing set of actors makes it a weird mix of feel good and suspense.
I’ve heard others relate it to The Goonies – so that’s always a win if it’s one of your childhood favourites.
If you liked Making a Murder, or True Detective or basically any crime drama then Mindhunter needs to be your next series!
So far only Season 1 is out but boy oh boy we cannot wait for Season 2 after that final episode.
It’s based on true events following the story of FBI behaviour experts who decide to go an interview some of America’s most dangerous “serial killers” (you’ll understand the “” if you want it) from the 70’s.
Not only is the series intense, leaving you on the edge of your seat but it is also really bloody interesting. It might sound morbid listening to the words of a murderer but if you like thrillers and crime dramas then this will be right up your street.
Are you even a blogger is you don’t have a copy of #Girlboss in at least one of your blog photos?
Being a bookworm I live by the whole “the book is better than the film” but this has to be the exception. The book – although good at first kinda bored me a bit hence why I still haven’t finished it.
The TV series on the other hand is everything every 20 something, career, ass kicking, independent woman needs in her life.
With it’s rather rude and bitchy main character (that we all secretly love and want to be best friends with) and the slight truth behind the whole thing, you just want to keep watching to see what happens to Sophia. Even though you already know from reading the book – and well Nasty Gal is a massive brand now.
Ok yes I know. I am sooo behind when it comes to this one but I was more interested in Doctor Who at the time this was out on BBC.
After finishing all of our main series Paul and I needed something else to binge. There may only be 3 episodes in a series but OH MY why have I never watched this before!
It is everything I want from a series. Comedy. Whit. Suspense. Explained intelligence – mainly because I can’t be bothered to think too hard at night, but it’s nice to not have a dull main character.
If you don’t have time to watch two episodes of a normal series but don’t want to go to bed after just one – Sherlock is perfect for you.
The episodes are around an hour and a half long so it feel like a film but you don’t need to pause the TV to go for a wee half way through.
That’s basically the list of the series we have recently finished/started watching in the past month and a half. We’re getting through them quite quick so feel free to leave your recommendations below.
