Why Autumn is the best season

why I love autumn Just Emmi

I feel like Autumn gets a lot of stick compared to the other seasons. I mean Spring makes people happy because it’s nearly Summer. Summer makes people happy because it’s Summer, and Winter makes people happy because of Christmas and New Year. What’s Autumn got besides Halloween – which I personally hate.

You’re probably all thinking “yeah why do people think Autumn is great?” Well I’m here to let you in on the secret that is the best season of the year. I’m pretty sure I can sway you toward being an autumn lover rather than loather.

If you hadn’t guess by now, jumpers are the best out of all the clothing items. They’re warm, cosy, go with anything and hide any unwanted lumps and bumps.

Whether it’s a sweater material, knitted, light-weight or oversized. Nothing beats a good jumper to keep you warm as the weather turns.

Summer and Spring are full of colour but the Autumn colours are just something else altogether.

The oranges, browns and purples that come not only in fashion but in nature during the season are just beautiful.

What’s great is that unlike the colours that come in and out of fashion during other seasons, Autumn colours look great on everyone.

Describing the weather as being fresh might sound quite weird, but think about it. It’s cold but not freezing, there’s a breeze but it’s not howling and the sun is out but it’s not boiling. It’s just fresh. It might be nearly cold enough to see your breath but you don’t need a hat and scarf just yet.

This freshness makes mornings a lot nicer in my opinion and can actually help to wake you up.

Let’s face it, if you’re caught with a hot drink – especially a hot chocolate in the summer people look at you a bit weird.

Even though it should be acceptable to drink hot drinks all year round, Autumn is when it starts becoming OK again.

Just in time for those of you who love a Pumpkin Spice Latte – never had one personally so let me know in the comments if you think I should give it a whirl.

The clocks going forward is usually the best option because it means you get an extra hour of daylight. But personally I prefer the extra hour in bed seeing as I stay up late as it is.

It may mean that it’s dark on your way home in the evening but just remember that extra hour of sleep before your alarm has to go off. Bliss!

I love going out on the weekend as much as the next person but you have to admit that staying in, curled up on the sofa with a movie marathon planned is a great idea.

With the days getting darker it’s suddenly now become a thing again to stay indoors and chill – which is OK in my books.

With Summer holidays over and Christmas a good 3 months away Autumn is the perfect season to start getting shit done.

You don’t have the stress from holiday adventures anymore or Christmas shopping yet so make a list and get those plans done.

Autumn is such an underrated season and the time of year when people start to get a bit miserable because Summer is over and Christmas is too far away. But really we should be cherishing it. It’s such a colour, beautiful and productive time of year.

Let me know which is your favourite season and why – you might be able to sway me away from Autumn…

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Autumn. I love the cosiness, the sunny but frosty days and the changes in nature but I hate the dark nights and mornings.

I have to agree I hate the dark nights as well, but at least we get an extra hour in bed

I always find when it’s summer I crave winter, and when it’s winter I crave summer! But I am really enjoying this crisp weather and opportunities to drink tea and eat soup again.

To be honest it is getting a bit too cold for my liking and I’d happily be on a beach somewhere warm haha

Autumn is the best season. All those cool weather walks and crispy jumpers can’t be beaten.
