Monthly chit chat: New projects and Blogtober

The Growing Up Guide - Monthly Chit Chat

Hello my lovely blog readers.

Today’s post is something very different from the stuff I usually do. I wanted to do some sort of monthly round-up of my life but also include bits and bobs that I’ve been enjoying about it.  – It’s not so much a Life Update post as those are saved for big events. But it’s not solely a monthly favourites post because it includes bits from my oh so glamorous life. It’s just a bit of a chatty, catchy-up-y post.

The reason for this is because I want to let you all into my life a bit more. I feel like it’s the “It’s OK” post and the more personal pieces that make Just Emmi different from other blogs. So it just makes sense to let you in on the Emmi side of things a bit more.

So without further ado let’s get one with the first monthly chit-chat shall we?

September has been a very interesting month for me. I secured my job and passed my three month probation. Woo!

It was also the month of my little photo shoot with Alexander Ward – you can check out some of the pictures in these posts: “Learning to smile again“, “My experience with counselling“, and “How social media made me appreciate switching off“.

We took so many photos and I’m really happy with how they turned out so you’ll be seeing some more of them as the months go on.

I’ve also been working really hard on an upcoming project – which has taken up the majority of my time. More about this will be revealed next month.

This little section is inspired by that wonderful Friday treat called Hannah Gale’s weekly newsletter. I wanted to share a few things I’ve been loving with you all this month in the hope you might love it as well.

Ozarks: This is a new Netflix original series and it is oh so good!! It’s like a more middle class version of Breaking Bad. It follows a family who have to up and move to an American Lake resort in order to launder money so they don’t get killed by some Mexican Drug Lord.

Big Soup: If you have never had a Heinz Big Soup then you need to try it! I had one for the first time the other day and it is literally the best thing to come out of a can since baked beans. With the weather taking a turn for more miserable side of things I’ve just wanted something to warm me up a bit at lunch time and Big Soup is it!

Online Community Spirit: I have been overwhelmed at how amazing community spirit can be. I’ve been following the #BlogRace on Twitter and it’s great to see everyone coming to together to support their favourite bloggers and also to read new ones. This is also shinning through all the blogger award ceremonies that there has been already this Autumn. We never seem to put other bloggers down – and if we do it’s always constructive criticism rather than trolling. We really are an amazing supportive community and I’m so proud to be apart of it.

October is right around the corner as for many bloggers so is Blogtober. This is basically when people challenge themselves to post everyday throughout October. Now before you all jump to conclusions – no I’m not doing Blogtober. I just simple don’t have the stamina for it.

Instead though I’m going to be sharing some blogging advice and tips over the course of a week – well a working week. November will mark the one year birthday of this blog, but I’ve actually been blogging since around 2012 under different names and platforms so I’ve learnt a few things that I want to share with you all.

You may have also noticed that this blog has started to change in terms of the type of content I’ve been writing. I’ve been wanting to make this little space on the internet a bit more personal which is why I’ve been opening up some more in my posts and touching on topics that most people don’t. Hopefully atlas one of you will appreciate or find help from some of the topics I’ve been talking about.

That’s all for now though folks. Come back next month for some more chit-chat or stick around for Blogtober.
