I’ve never been one to want to travel the world. I’ve always wanted to travel but never have I wanted to go further a field than Europe. I’m not big on the whole travelling above the ground for more than a few hours.
This is why I have decided to come up with a realistic travel bucket list. A list of places that I could actually go to this year if I wanted to – not all in one go obvs.
The main places I want to visit that are super realistic on the list are cities within the UK and surrounding it.
London is at the top of the list because believe it or not I’ve never actually been and seen the sights. I just want to go and be a bit of a tourist for the day. Go down Oxford Street for some shopping, wave to the Queen at Buckingham Palace and maybe visit a museum or two.
Wales, Ireland and Scotland are also up there. I’ve always felt that the UK is full of beautiful places but nobody really appreciated them because the weather isn’t great and it just feels like home, not a holiday. We’ve already visited a few northern places which you can read about here, but I’m currently trying to convince Paul to do a bit of a UK road trip next year so we can see all of the amazing sights that the UK has to offer, both rural and urban.
Barcelona is another favourite on the list as I have been to Madrid once and Ibiza many more times, but I still want to explore Spain. I’ve always loved the Spanish culture and because of this I think that Barcelona has to be the next stop on the list.
The list also includes Paris, Amsterdam and anywhere in Italy; but they aren’t a priority right now because travelling is bloody expensive, so we’re sticking with the cheaper more local options for now.
I love the idea of exploring new places and for now I’m going to start with Manchester and hopefully we can branch out a bit further other the next year. Watch this space because of course I’ll be blogging about it.
Let me know what your realistic travel bucket list consists of. I might add some of your places to my list.
