The everyday lipsticks I always reach for

I’m not know for my love of make-up or my application skills for that matter but if there is one thing I do love it’s lipsticks. Although I’m not one for a bright bold lip, I do love a good nude.

As promised I am going to be doing some more fashion and beauty posts on here so why not start off with a few favourites. I don’t wear lipstick everyday but when I do these are the 4 I reach for the most.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche in J Lo’s Nude

This was my first ever nude lipstick and is probably the one I wear the most. I can’t remember who it was, but I remember watching a make-up video on YouTube and from there was influenced to buy this.

The shade itself is a very classic nude – a ‘your lips but better’ shade. (Look at me with the fancy beauty terminology) It’s a very moisturising lipstick and although it doesn’t stay on al day, it’s a shade that blends well with your lips so you can’t tell if its smudged off. I’m still on my first one but I will definitely be repurchasing it. I think it’s now been renamed though – possibly now called Rosewood Beige.

Rimmel Rock ‘N’ Roll Nude 54

This shade is part of the Rimmel 15th anniversary nude collection by Kate Moss, and I have to say all of the shades in this collection are beautiful! For me this is a much pinker nude than the L’Oreal one and is what I reach for when I want something subtle but at the same time noticeable. It gives me a very fresh look.

I use this a lot more in the spring and summer as it makes me feel a lot more girly than usual. Perfect for summer dresses and matching with floral prints.

Clinique Intense Chubby Stick in Roomiest Rose

I buy a lot of Clinique products and because of this I sometimes get a few freebies thrown in during their bonus time. This chubby stick was a freebie I got ages a go but never really tried. Now I love it. It is my go to bright colour – I know I’m not very adventurous.

It’s a very soft red that is still super pigmented. I also love how it’s like a crayon so it makes it easy to apply. The chubby sticks are also brilliant if you are prone to dry lips as they are full of moisture.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi

A few weeks back I went to a NYX launch event where I bought their new Total Control Drop Foundation (read my review here), but I also picked up some other bits.

At the event I was lucky enough to have my full face done by one of their beauty experts and she picked this shade out for me. At first I thought it was going to come out really brown but it’s a lot lighter, and with a touch on pink in it.

I’ve got a few of these lip creams but this is one that I wear the most. It’s a very subtle shade which as you can tell is a theme in my make-up bag.

If you haven’t tried the lip creams before then you won’t know how pigmented they are and how long they last. I’ve worn this out, eaten a burger, had multiple drinks and it has still stayed in tacked. I would highly recommend this formula for anybody wanting a lip that lasts.

Let me know in the comments what your everyday lipstick is, and if you’ve tried out any of my favourites.

  1. I also use J Lo and love it! πŸ™‚ Recently I like to highlight my lips a little bit stronger but without making them look “too much” and I found that Rimmel mat “High Flyer” does the job perfectly ❀
